What Happens When You Don’t Wash Your Face

What Happens When You Don’t Wash Your Face

Here at the Skincare Bible, we have a few skincare commandments. The first, wash your face!

As well as removing makeup, dirt, bacteria and impurities from the surface of skin, not washing your face can lead to breakouts, enlarged pores, fine lines, and dullness.

1. Say hello to breakouts.

When you don’t remove makeup, dirt, bacteria, excess oil and other impurities from your skin, it can build up in pores and clog them, resulting in breakouts. Wash your skin. It is important. Gentle cleanse morning and night with your favourite fragrance free cleanser.

2. Signs of Aging May Become More Visible

Sleeping allows our skin to undergo self-repair. If we miss the fundamental step of not cleansing before hitting the pillow can lead to pollution accumulating on the skin and disrupting the skin’s ability to renew itself. Because of this, signs of skin aging like fine lines and wrinkles can form and existing ones can look more apparent.

3. Pores Might Look Enlarged

Excess oil, dead skin cells and other impurities can clog your pores and make them look enlarged. Stick to a steady cleansing routine to help keep pores clear and minimised.

4. Your Skin May Become Dehydrated

If the surface of your skin contains a buildup of dead skin cells and impurities, your moisturiser isn’t going to absorb well or penetrate deeply. This is why you should always start your routine with a cleanser and finish with a moisturiser.

5. Your Skin Tone Might Look Dull and Your Skin Texture Might Feel Rough

Cleanse and exfoliate regularly to restore a smooth, even complexion. Lets be honest, who wants really rough skin?
